Hi! My name is Pierce

I'm a director, writer, theater maker, and filmmaker from a small farm town called Durham, Connecticut; From theaters with no grid and sets painted by parents and siblings; A movie-loving father with an affinity for Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

Growing up I had a hyperactive inability to stay away from theater and film, considering myself a stop motion animator, then a creature effects designer, reluctantly an actor, and sometimes a pyrotechnics engineer (sorry mom) - But always a writer and director. I've since been able to hone my skills as an editor and filmmaker working on short films and music videos, and as a theater director as a part of the International Performance Ensemble at Pace University.

I try to tell stories about our failures and shortcomings, and our capacity to care for one another despite them. Stories for people who are confused and frightened by themselves; Warm. Sarcastic. Close to my chest. Benders is one of those, embarrassing and disgusting and full of love.
